1. Smove | Singapore
Smove, the Singapore-based startup that brings (relatively) eco-friendly cars to passengers looking to get around town, has announced it has raised a funding round led by Rebright Partners, and with contributions by 500 Startups, Wavemaker Pacific, and five unnamed investors.
2. 8villages | Indonesia
8villages is a hub that connect farmers and give them information about agricultural topics like crop prices, weather forecasts, and farming tips. The startup announced that it’s working with local telco XL Axiata and Gajah Mada University’s faculty of agriculture to offer Indonesian farmers free access to that information via SMS.
3. ShopperBoard | Singapore
With the online retail landscape getting increasingly cluttered, ShopperBoard wants to make window-shopping possible in the world of online retail, and terms themselves as a Pinterest-style social network for shopping. The company launched their iOS and Android apps this week, and in the last six months, they have seen a monthly user growth rate of 20 percent.
4. Qiscus | Indonesia
Created by a Yogyakarta startup, Qiscus allows you to chat and work with your colleagues in multiple rooms. The startup basic package lets unlimited numbers of people use it for free, while the premium package offers more features like video calling and email integration. It’s all aimed at a global audience, with the premium level priced at USD 6.40 per month.
5. Boatbay | Singapore and Australia
Singapore- and Sydney-based boat rental marketplace Boatbay, according to the founders, is like th the “Airbnb for boating, yachting and people who want to experience a social activity on the water”. The service enables an owner to earn money out of his or her boat, while making luxury boating activities affordable and more easily accessible for the masses.
6. Valuklik | Indonesia
Valuklik is an Indonesia-based online agency that offers SEO, SEM, and advanced Analytics services to clients, and has recently received a round of seed funding from venture capital firm East Ventures.
7. Red Dot Payment | Singapore
