While it may not have earned as much as Tencent ($1.8 billion) or Netease ($377 million) from online games in Q2 2014, China’s Perfect World is no slouch. The company is reporting Q2 revenues of RMB 928 million ($149 million), growth of 4% compared to the previous quarter and 32.6% year-on-year.

Perfect World’s profit numbers are less impressive, though. Although at $26 million the company’s Q2 net profits are up 100% compared to Q2 2013, they’re actually lower than profits in either of the two previous quarters. This news caused Perfect World’s stock to dip by about 5% when the news first broke, but it has since recovered.
The good news for Dota 2 fans is that Dota 2‘s contribution to Perfect World’s bottom line has apparently increased, although that affect has been somewhat offset in the overall results by the sliding performance of some other PC titles.
