Stripe cuts 300 jobs in product, engineering, operations
Stripe has laid off 300 employees, accounting for approximately 3.5% of its workforce.
The layoffs primarily affected the product, engineering, and operations divisions.
Despite these layoffs, Stripe aims to increase its workforce to 10,000 by the end of 2025, representing a 17% growth.
A memo from Chief People Officer Rob McIntosh indicated that Stripe is “not slowing down hiring.”
The layoff process faced challenges, including some employees receiving incorrect termination dates, according to a Stripe spokesperson.
Additionally, some termination emails mistakenly included a cartoon duck image as a PDF attachment.
