SG robotics firm Sharpa powers H2 Plus humanoid robot
Singapore-based robotics startup Sharpa said on June 1 that Unitree’s H2 Plus humanoid robot uses its Wave tactile hands as part of the robot’s reference design.
The system is built on Nvidia’s Isaac GR00T development platform, which supports the development of advanced humanoid robots.
Sharpa said the configuration combines Unitree’s H2 chassis with two five-finger hands, each offering 22 degrees of freedom.
It also integrates Nvidia’s Jetson AGX Thor T5000 to support data collection, simulation, training, evaluation, and deployment.
The company added that each fingertip has a digital tactile array with more than 1,000 pixels and 0.02 newton pressure sensitivity for touch-based manipulation research.
Unitree’s product pages list the H2 and H2 EDU, but not an H2 Plus variant.
The H2 is a roughly 70 kg full-size humanoid with 31 degrees of freedom, and the EDU version supports optional dexterous hands and compute modules up to Jetson AGX Thor.
Nvidia describes GR00T as a humanoid foundation model within its Isaac robotics platform, while Jetson Thor is designed for real-time control and multi-sensor processing on the robot.
Sharpa is developing tactile-first robots designed to address one of the industry’s biggest challenges: dexterous manipulation.
The company has built a robotic hand with 22 degrees of freedom and more than 1,000 tactile sensors per fingertip, enabling robots to perform delicate tasks by combining touch, vision, and AI.
Sharpa is now targeting commercial sectors such as hospitality, retail, and food services while training its systems with proprietary tactile data to help robots develop human-like “muscle memory” for handling objects.
