OpenAI partners with Anduril for counter-drone defense tech

OpenAI has partnered with defense contractor Anduril Industries to integrate its software into counterdrone systems.

This partnership marks a change in OpenAI’s approach to military applications.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the collaboration supports AI use aligned with democratic values.

He noted this initiative aims to assist US military personnel while advocating responsible AI application in national security.

Anduril’s counterdrone systems are under a US$200 million contract with the US Marine Corps.
