OpenAI has opened a new office in Zurich, Switzerland, hiring three computer vision and machine learning engineers from Google DeepMind.

The engineers, Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai, will work on developing AI systems capable of handling text, images, and audio tasks.

The engineers will help advance OpenAI’s research into multimodal capabilities.

OpenAI is expanding globally, planning to open more offices in cities including New York, Seattle, Brussels, Paris, and Singapore.
