Mistral, a French AI startup, is exploring options for additional fundraising to build a new data center near Paris, equipped with advanced chips to improve AI processing.

CEO Arthur Mensch said that future funding rounds will support the initiative.

While no specific amounts were mentioned, securing capital remains a key priority.

Since its launch in early 2023, Mistral has raised over €1 billion (US$1.3 billion), reaching a €5.8 billion (US$5.97 billion) valuation in June 2024.

The announcement aligns with France’s €109 billion (US$112.28 billion) AI investment plan, backed by the US, Canada, and the UAE, which focuses on data center development.
