Metaplanet, one of Japan’s largest corporate bitcoin holders, has appointed Eric Trump to its Strategic Board of Advisors.

The company, which currently holds 3,200 BTC, aims to increase its reserves to 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025.

CEO Simon Gerovich confirmed the appointment on Mar. 21, via X.

Eric Trump is expected to help expand Metaplanet’s bitcoin holdings. He is also involved in other cryptocurrency initiatives, serving as an ambassador for World Liberty Financial (WLFI) alongside his brothers Donald Jr. and Barron Trump.

However, the WLFI white paper clarifies that the Trump family does not manage or own the project.

Following the announcement, Metaplanet’s stock price rose 1.3% to US$27.80 during trading hours in Japan.
