Japan’s Metaplanet acquires $43.9m in bitcoin
Japanese investment firm Metaplanet, which is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, announced on Mar.5 that it has acquired an additional 497 bitcoin (BTC).
This purchase, valued at US$43.9 million, was completed at an average price of US$88,448 per bitcoin.
This acquisition raises Metaplanet’s total bitcoin holdings to 2,888 BTC.
These holdings have been acquired for around US$240.2 million at an average price of US$83,172 per bitcoin.
Based on current market rates, these holdings are now valued at US$251 million.
