China’s DeepSeek relies on young team to challenge US giants
Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has focused on recruiting young talent, with many team members being recent graduates or having limited work experience.
On December 26, the company launched its third-generation large language model, DeepSeek V3.
It is said to compete with AI systems developed by major US companies like OpenAI and Meta, despite being trained with fewer resources.
Founded in 2023 and based in Hangzhou, DeepSeek attributes its development to a team of 150 researchers and engineers.
The team also includes 31 data automation specialists.
