AI expert Nie Pengcheng to lead BYD’s AI R&D center
BYD has appointed Nie Pengcheng, former chief technology expert at 01.AI, to lead its Advanced Technology Research and Development Center, effective November 2024.
With 12 years of experience in AI computing and large-scale model development, Nie will oversee AI supercomputing and help develop AI applications.
The center, part of BYD’s New Technology Research Institute established in September 2024.
Sources suggest that the center will work with various large AI models, including foundational, multimodal, language, and visual models.
