Broadcom forecasts $14.9b revenue on strong AI chip demand
Broadcom Inc., a chipmaker for major tech companies including Apple, projects revenue of approximately US$14.9 billion for the quarter ending May 4.
This forecast exceeds analysts’ average estimate of US$14.6 billion, suggesting ongoing demand for AI-related technology.
In its first quarter, Broadcom reported revenue of US$14.92 billion, a 25% increase, with earnings of US$1.60 per share, excluding certain items.
Broadcom’s semiconductor division, which includes custom AI chip designs for data centers, generated US$8.21 billion in revenue this quarter, reflecting an 11% increase.
CEO Hock Tan noted that AI-related sales are expected to reach US$4.4 billion this quarter, contributing significantly to growth.
