Apple has requested a federal judge dismiss the United States Department of Justice’s (DOJ) antitrust lawsuit, arguing that the government’s claims are speculative.

The company contends the lawsuit fails to convincingly demonstrate that Apple holds monopoly power.

Apple asserts that its market share does not equate to monopoly power and describes the developers claiming harm as large, well-capitalized entities in social media, banking, and gaming sectors.

US District Court Judge Julien Xavier Neals will decide if the DOJ’s case should proceed as it stands or dismiss certain claims.
