Zomato to hire for 800 job openings

Restaurant aggregator Zomato is looking to hire over 800 employees, CEO and founder Deepinder Goyal announced.

The India-based company is looking for chiefs of staff, generalists, product managers, growth managers, and software development engineers.

In November, it was reported that Zomato had laid off under 3% of its firm, affecting around 100 of its 3,800-strong workforce.

Before the cuts, the firm had experienced significant dips in its share value due to the end of its one-year lock-in period for investors. Consequently, Zomato backers such as Sequoia Capital India offloaded their stakes.

Established by Goyal in 2010, the company went public in 2021. Most recently, it was rumored that the firm would be shutting down Zomato Instant, its 10-minute food delivery service, with sources saying it remains unprofitable after a year.

However, Zomato clarified it would be rebranding and working on a new menu for the service.
