Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z’s teaser site just got a massive update

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z’s teaser site has just been updated, and oh boy what an update. The teaser site has announced an upcoming comic, new details on Yaiba’s abilities, and collaborations with Dead or Alive 5, Neguruma Z and Mighty No. 9

If you can read Japanese and are a fan of Yaiba, you may want to check out this new comic’s preview. It’s only one page, but shows a dialogue between Yaiba and a mysterious, busty, red-headed woman. At the end of the comic, she asks him why he uses a half broken sword and what its name is. Yaiba simply responds with, “well it’s a long story.” This interaction leads me to believe that the comic will dive into Yaiba’s backstory.

The teaser site has updated info on Yaiba’s slash and both his chain and cyborg arms. Yaiba’s left arm, his cyborg arm, is able to produce a powerful punch and can shoot a special attack out the elbow. His right arm is his chain arm, which can extend Yaiba’s reach and wrap around his enemies.

Most notable of the announced collaborations will be the downloadable costumes in Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, which will feature Hayabusa and Koyo’s outfits. After Yaiba launches for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, characters from Neguruma Z and Mighty No. 9 will make appearances in the new Ninja Gaiden game.
