Today Xiaomi announced its newest fitness tracker, the Mi Band 2. The device sports a heart beat monitor and an OLED display, and will sell for a cool US$22.65.
Xiaomi says the band’s battery will last for up to 20 days, thanks to the fact that the screen can be set to only turn on when a button is pressed. The device can display a user’s steps and heart rate, as well as the time. The band also sports updated step and heart rate trackers, which Xiaomi says are more accurate than its previous models.

While the device is called the “Mi Band 2,” it’s actually Xiaomi’s third fitness tracker. The first two iterations were essentially identical, save for the addition of a heart rate monitor in the later device. Bands are big business for Xiaomi. While the company’s smartphone sales aren’t what they used to be, its cheap, powerful wearables have seen huge success in China and abroad. Since August 2014, the company estimates that it has sold nearly 20 million of the devices – mostly in China, but also in markets like India and Indonesia.
We’ve been fans of Xiaomi’s bands in the past – it’s hard to bicker with a product that does a solid job at a comically low price.
The device will go on sale in mainland China on June 7.
