World Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is the first internationally-recognized day for the celebration, education, and inspiration of entrepreneurs and innovators. Individuals, high schools, universities, corporations and NGO’s around the world partake in the WED celebration by hosting activities or events to demonstrate their entrepreneurial spirit and to spark innovation in their communities. And to celebrate the first time WED comes to Singapore, WED has teamed up with ASEANpreneurs to bring you an afternoon of sharing under the theme “The entrepreneurs: Before they get there”.
Mission of World Entrepreneurship Day
The mission of WED is to remind the world that it is entrepreneurs who have consistently and
courageously led economies in recession back to prosperity and growth through innovation and job creation. A key driver behind WED is – “world rejuvenation through entrepreneurship!”
Event Synopsis: “The Entrepreneurs: Before they get there”
Under the theme “The entrepreneurs: Before they get there”, we aspire to first unveil that myth of a successful entrepreneur; and second, offer our participants a chance to see, hear, and experience first-hand that entrepreneurial journey through sharing session and interactive games especially designed to bring them from the early step of formulating an idea, planning its execution to selling it to the audience including investors and the general public.
The 2-session event will offer a combination of sharing and interactive activities designed to bring about a unique experience for both our guests and participants. So far, we have confirmations from such guest speakers as Mr. Paul Dunn, Co-founder of Buy1GIVE1; Mr. Jack Sim, Founder of World Toilet Organization (WTO); Mr. Adrian Tan, Founder & CEO of Antenna Consulting; Mr. Aseem Thakur, Founder of Give.sg; and Ms. Shiao-Yin Kuik, Founder of School of Thought.
