TiE Singapore and SmartKapital bring to you a one day workshop that will help assess the strengths and weakness of your venture or idea by recognizing and challenging the assumptions you have made. With over 150 alumni from past conducts, this workshop has been praised by past TiE attendees as eye-opening and worth every minute.
What the workshop is about?
This workshop has helped over a hundred and fifty entrepreneurs to date. Applying principles of Adult Learning theory, the workshop guides participants in applying the Business Model Canvas to their own circumstances, whether it is a venture in-progress or just a business idea they are thinking about. In the process, participants assess the strengths and weakness of their venture or idea by recognizing and challenging the assumptions they have made. Praised by alumni as eye opening and worth every minute, this hands-on “experiential learning” workshop limits participation to 25 to maximize the learning experience.
Drawing on a framework for understanding business models articulated in a recent book
Business Model Generation (Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur, Wiley, 2010), and over half a century of consulting and operating experience in the United States, Asia-Pacific, and India,, SmartKapital has designed this workshop to help entrepreneurs do the following:
1. Understand the components of a business model (the Business Model Canvas above)
2. Build a coherent business model for their own business
3. Clarify to themselves the strength or otherwise of their business model
4. Articulate their business model clearly to other stake holders, etc.
5. Communicate their business model to investors.
