Who said women donโ€™t want to date entrepreneurs? Tinder data shows otherwise

Entrepreneurs make bad romantic partners, right? Weโ€™ve all heard of their workaholism, moodiness, control freakishness, yada, yada.

Well, women in India have taken a swipe at that myth. Founders and bosses of startups are among the ones getting most right-swiped on Tinder, according to data released today by the dating app.

Men think likewise, giving the most right swipes to women entrepreneurs. So at least here we find gender equality.

Or wait. When you look down the list at the other popular choices for men and women, there are tell-tale differences.

Apart from startup founders, women want to date project managers and architects. Men, on the other hand, prefer secretaries (executive assistants) and nurses. Hmm.

Tinder recently added education and jobs in user profiles. So thatโ€™s how it knows the jobs of men and women whoโ€™re getting the most right-swipes.

Men:

  • Founder/owner
  • Engineers
  • Managing director/director
  • Consultant
  • Software developer

Women:

  • Founder/owner
  • Registered nurse
  • Marketing manager
  • Executive assistant
  • Flight attendant

But hereโ€™s a word to the wise: donโ€™t rest on these laurels. You still have to find a work-life balance and time for building a relationship. Otherwise you will become a serial dater.
