Global payments firm Wise said it’s on track to increase its headcount in Singapore to 400 by the end of this year, double from the number at the beginning of 2022.

In a statement, the company said that its Singapore office currently accounts for 10% of its total workforce.
Founded by Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann in 2011, Wise (previously TransferWise) is a fintech firm that offers payment infrastructure to its customers. The company has worked with more than 50 banks and non-bank partners across the world and processes more than US$9 billion in cross-border transactions every month.
In July 2021, the firm was listed on the London Stock Exchange at a valuation of US$11 billion. Earlier this year, it became one of the first non-bank financial institutions to integrate directly into Singapore’s real-time payments system FAST.
