Microsoft India Offers Free Windows Phone Devices To Student Developers
In a bid to promote its new mobile operating system and attract young app developers, Microsoft India is offering free Windows Phone devices to students under a program called ‘i unlock joy’.

Students over 16 who are members of its DreamSpark program are allowed to participate in this program. They will receive a brand new Windows Phone if they develop and publish four apps on the Windows Phone Marketplace by December 18, 2011.
However if you are not able to publish four apps by the stipulated time, don’t worry, you’ll still get a merit certificate, a Windows Phone T-Shirt, and a 2GB Flash Drive.
How To Participate?
- Head over to Microsoft India Website and register for “i unlock joy”campaign by November 18, 2011.
- Download the latest Windows Phone Developer Tools from MSDN.com.
- Once you develop the app, submit it at the AppHub. The app is then certified and listed on the Windows Phone Marketplace.
- You can then fill out the form with your app details to claim the goodies. The complete terms and conditions can be read here.
So if you are student app developer, here is a great chance to rack your brains and build some really cool apps for Windows Phone 7.
And if you do build any interesting app, do let us know!
