China’s MOBA market is already pretty saturated, but that’s clearly not stopping Chinese devs from diving into the fray. The most recently-announced entry is Netease’s Wild Fire, a game the company is calling a “fast-paced 3D MOBA”, which was revealed for the first time on Friday.
As you can tell from the trailer below, Wild Fire appears to be a third-person sort of thing in the style of Smite that’ll pit teams of 3 and 5 against each other in quick 15-to-20 minute matches. Players will be able to select different heroes, each with their own unique skillset, and compete across a variety of maps.
Obviously, the game is heavily influenced by highly-stylized fighting games in addition to MOBAs. But beyond that, it’s not too clear how the game will play just yet. And don’t expect to jump into the game anytime soon; Netease Games is reporting that it likely won’t enter closed beta until next year at the earliest.
