Which is the top spending Asian country on games for 2014? (Oct 2014)
We’re entering the fourth quarter of 2014 and things will soon heat up as winter and the games scheduled for release this holiday season roll in. Market research firm Newzoo has listed the top 100 countries with the highest global games revenue, based on their performances to date and fourth quarter projections.
The data is based on a combination of primary consumer research, transactional data, quarterly company reports and census data, and includes estimates and assumptions. It is also based on consumer revenues generated by companies in the global games industry and excludes the following: hardware sales, tax, business-to-business services, online gambling, and betting revenues.
Games in Asia has crunched data for the top ten Asian countries with the highest project game revenue for 2014, and compared it alongside populations and internet penetration rates.

China, Japan, and South Korea are the chart-topping Asian countries, ringing in at second, third, and sixth in the global overall chart respectively. Hot on their heels is Taiwan, followed by India, by virtue of its huge population.
