“Tiger Wife” Wendi Deng Mauls Murdoch’s Pie Attacker, in NMA Animation [VIDEO]

In that spirit, Taiwan’s Next Media group has sprung its digital animators into action, in a video that reports the event and also turns Mrs Deng, 42, into an actual, leg-mauling tiger. There’s also a rather disturbing three seconds long scene of the 80-year old media baron giving his four-decade younger wife – to use the crude, childish parlance of one of Murdoch’s rags – a bonking. Let’s see how much Chinese netizens enjoy watching that.

Wendi Deng in a more relaxed, less 'pouncey' mood.
The pie attack put some British slapstick into the tense proceedings at the House of Commons inquiry, where Rupert Murdoch and his son James – now chief executive at News Corp – were called before a government panel. They were ordered to be there to answer questions related to the decade-long hacking of the voicemail accounts at the News of the World – and perhaps other Murdoch papers/stations? – in search of scoops. The hacking victims proved to be anyone from murdered children to politicians or celebrities – all in the name of the News of the World’s trashy sensationalism that Murdoch apparently thinks of as journalism.
Hopefully, the prankster’s pie won’t distract the world’s often short-sighted media from the weight and complexity of the charges leveled at these senior News Corp executives – including long-time News of the World editor, Rebekah Brooks – which are serious and heinous, and reveal institutional corruption and criminality.
On that tricky segue, here’s Next Media’s take on Wendi Deng:
