US telecom firm acquires SG-based engagement startup Jumper.ai
Cloud communications firm Vonage has acquired Singapore-based shopper engagement platform Jumper.ai to boost its own conversational commerce capabilities.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Launched in 2017, Jumper.ai creates omnichannel engagement points with customers across various digital platforms. It counts Disney, Unilever, Jollibee, and Samsung as some of its users. The startup will be joining Vonage’s product and engineering group in Singapore as part of the deal.
The acquisition will help in “providing businesses with embedded commerce capabilities to simplify the way they serve, connect with, and sell to their own customers from anywhere, on any channel,” said Rory Read, CEO of Vonage.
Customer spending coursed through conversational commerce channels will hit US$290 billion by 2025, according to Juniper Research. It also predicted that 90% of chatbot spend will come from China, Japan, and South Korea by then.
“Combining our market-leading technologies presents an opportunity to create new, amazing customer experiences, leveraging Jumper.ai technology and the global reach of Vonage,” said Yash Kotak, CEO and co-founder of Jumper.ai.
