ABOUT

Shanghai-based XTransfer is a one-stop cross-border financial and risk management services company. It specializes in helping small and medium-sized businesses enhance their global competitiveness and reduce the barriers and costs to expanding their operations abroad.

The fintech company was co-founded by Bill Deng, former international business director of Ant Financial, in May 2017.

The company used this deck to net US$138 million in series D funding, which put it in the unicorn club.

Fundraising journey

  • 2018: US$10 million of series A funding led by China Merchants Group with participation from 01VC, Yunqi Partners, and Gaorong Capital
  • 2019: US$15 million of series B funding led by eWTP Fund and participated by China Merchants Venture Capital, 01VC, Yunqi Partners, and Gaorong Capital
  • 2020: Undisclosed amount of series C funding led by Telstra Ventures with participation from MindWorks Ventures and existing investors
  • January 2021: Undisclosed amount of second round of series C funding led by Lavender Hill Capital Partners
  • September 2021: US$138 million of series D funding led by D1 Capital Partners
