TIA’s Regional Founders Meetup: Where Asia’s leaders connect

Content takes the lead at Tech in Asia.

This is most apparent in the in-depth exposés, engaging profiles, and deep dives into financial numbers that our newsroom puts out, but it’s a principle that applies to every project we embark on.

Our conferences, for example, promise to give attendees session after session of insights from experts and thought leaders.

This emphasis on quality content builds trust and a strong, authentic bond between Tech in Asia and our audience that helps the company achieve key milestones. For instance, our first-ever large-scale event in Vietnam exceeded our ticket sales targets.

But this content expertise doesn’t come out of thin air. It’s borne from a dedication to keeping our ear on the ground and staying up to date with what’s exciting, or even painful, in the tech and startup world.

And as part of our continuing mission to bridge gaps between players in the scene, we worked with a Singapore government agency that focuses on building the country’s capabilities as a hub for innovation and business to hold a series of intimate networking events across Asia in 2023.

Come together, over me

Known as the Regional Founders Meetup (RFM) series, these events are exactly as they sound. Held in seven major Asian cities – including Singapore, Jakarta, Bangalore, Manila – these sessions brought together founders, investors, and key stakeholders in each market.

The series is another angle on our ability and commitment to play a “connecting tissue” role in the community and foster partnerships between different parties.

It also provided our government partner with an in-depth, on-the-ground look at the latest emerging trends and ideas from each market. This can inform local and regional strategies that could have far-reaching effects in the years to come.

The RFM series also solidified the government agency’s – and Tech in Asia’s – position as leaders within the Asian tech ecosystem.

At a glance:

Desktop research can reveal a lot, but to truly open doors requires speaking with people on the ground and trying to make a difference. After all, nothing beats experience, and RFM provided that in spades across multiple markets.
