SYNC 2024: A gathering of top AI experts, courtesy of EDB and TIA

In partnership withEDB

We’ve written about SYNC before. It’s a closed-door and invite-only event that gathers 100 experts and thought leaders in a given field to have high-level discussions about the future and how we, as part of the tech world, can help to make that future a reality.

And right now, there’s nothing that represents the future more than AI.

Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) worked with Tech in Asia to bring SYNC 2024 to life, and all the spotlights were on AI. The city-state has ambitions of being a hub for AI development and growth, and hosting events like these go a long way toward nurturing the scene and its players.

Engagement at all levels

Held at Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island, the lush environs served as a fitting backdrop for discussions focusing on important topics such as:

  • Singapore’s National AI Strategy
  • OpenAI’s vision for the future
  • How AI is set to change the world of gaming

These main-stage topics were followed by a networking luncheon and small-group roundtable talks that allowed for deeper conversations on specific topics within the AI sphere.

As with past editions of SYNC, all of these main-stage sessions and roundtable discussions were hosted by and featured leading experts and changemakers.

OpenAI managing director Oliver Jay was in the hot seat for the genAI fireside chat, while Razer CEO and co-founder Min-Liang Tan spearheaded the conversation on AI in gaming.

Among the many luminaries at the event were:

  • Benjamin Chan, head of Nvidia’s Inception program
  • Andreas Hauser, co-founder and CEO of Aiquris
  • Milena Nikolova, partner at Antares Ventures
  • Sherry Jiang, co-founder and CEO of Peek
  • Adrian Li, founder and managing partner of AC Ventures

At a glance:

The full potential of AI remains to be realized, but events like SYNC play a big part in accelerating plans and strategies. To that end, Tech in Asia is proud to collaborate with EDB to usher in the future.
