ABOUT
Founded in 2009, the US-based Nutanix is a cloud computing company that sells hyper-converged infrastructure software, cloud services, and software-defined storage, among others.
It enables the deployment of virtual workloads such as virtual desktop initiatives, app development, private clouds, and big data projects.
The firm went public in 2016 and raised US$237.9 million in its initial public offering on the Nasdaq.
In December 2020, Nutanix appointed its new CEO and president Rajiv Ramaswami, who has held senior executive roles at companies such as VMware, Broadcom, Cisco, and Nortel.
The company used this pitch deck to raise US$101 million in its series D round led by Riverwood Capital and SAP Ventures.

- 2010: US$13.3 million of series A funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Blumberg Capital
- 2011: US$25.3 million of series B funding led by Khosla Ventures, with the participation of Lightspeed Venture Partners and Blumberg Capital
- 2012: US$33 million of series C funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Battery Ventures, and Goldman Sachs
- January 2014: US$101 million of series D funding co-led by Riverwood Capital and SAP Ventures, with participation from Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, Greenspring Associates, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, and Battery Ventures
- August 2014: US$140 million of series E funding from undisclosed investors
