AI maps startup NextBillion used this pitch deck to bank over $6.2m from Microsoft venture fund

ABOUT

Singapore-based startup NextBillion provides AI mapping solutions to enterprises and allows them to expand in emerging and developed markets.

The firm was built by co-founders Gaurav Bubna, Ajay Bulusu, and Shaolin Zheng, who were previously part of Grab’s tech leadership team. They helped develop features like routing, pricing, and estimated time of arrival for the ride-hailing firm.

NextBillion’s first product, NextBillion Maps, is a software-as-a-service platform that provides application programming interfaces for routing, navigation, direction, and distance matrix.

NextBillion used this pitch deck to secure its series A extension round this year.

Fundraising journey

• 2020: US$7 million in series A funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Falcon Edge Capital, with participation from former Freshworks chief operating officer Nishant Rao, Cassandra founder Prashant Malik, and Mad Street Den founders Anand Chandrasekaran and Ashwini Asokan.
• 2021: Over US$6.2 million in series A extension funding from M12, Microsoft’s venture fund.
