Mapping Vietnam’s blockchain and crypto space

While many companies in the crypto space are struggling to secure funding, there are markets still embracing the tech.

Vietnam is one such example. The country regularly ranks atop lists for crypto adoption.

As the graphic above shows, the country has over 100 businesses, institutions, and organizations active in different blockchain and crypto sectors.

First published in a report by Kyros Ventures, Coin68, and Animoca Brands, the graphic shows the breadth of crypto projects in Vietnam, with everything from game studios to educational organizations represented.

One example of the latter is RMIT University, which has two campuses in the country and offers a master’s in blockchain-enabled business.

State-owned telecom firm Viettel, which is operated by the defense ministry, is also active in the blockchain world with Viettel Blockchain Node.

That said, while the Vietnamese government has made steps to embrace blockchain technology – it has legally recognized the Vietnam Blockchain Association, for example – crypto still exists in a regulatory gray area in the country.
