The issues keeping medtech execs up at night

It’s been a tough year for startups, and companies in the health and medical sector have not been exempted.
It’s no wonder then that a survey of medtech executives found that the most common challenge these professionals reported facing was pressure to fight falling margins and a reduction in the cost of goods sold.
Perhaps similar to the broader health and technology sector, medtech products have seen dampened demand due to the recession of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected margins.
A survey from the Boston Consulting Group of some of the industry’s top players also found that adapting their services to the world of AI was a big concern, with 46% of respondents citing this as one of their top five challenges.
As the graphic above shows, supply chain resilience was also a hot topic, having been mentioned by 37% of the executives surveyed.
