Educational esports platform GamerzClass used this deck to gain 500 Startups’ backing

ABOUT

Founded in 2018, GamerzClass touts itself as the “Netflix for gamers,” offering a platform for gaming videos and tutorials featuring professional esports athletes. It offers lessons for competitive titles such as Dota 2, League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and FIFA.

The Denmark-based startup used this deck in February last year in a 500 Startups Demo Day to receive US$150,000 in pre-seed funding.

It went on to rake in US$1 million in a seed round in September 2020. At that time, GamerzClass said it has over 30,000 users in more than 140 countries.

Fundraising journey

• 2019: Undisclosed amount of early stage funding from Jesper Drescher, founder of BeautyClick, and a Danish growth fund Vækstfonden
• February 2020: US$150,000 of pre-seed funding from 500 Startups
• September 2020: US$1 million of seed funding led by Bumble Ventures, with the participation of TrueSight Ventures and Vækstfonden. Ben Holmes, former general partner at Index Ventures; Christian Legêne, global CEO of Autobutler; and Kathrine Stampe Andersen, ex-deputy director of TDC Group, also joined the round.
