ABOUT

Founded in 2012, Atomwise uses deep learning AI technology for structure-based drug discovery and is developing a pipeline of small-molecule drugs that are currently advancing into preclinical studies. The US-based firm also created convolutional neural networks – a kind of deep learning algorithm – for drug discovery.

The company’s AI technology has been used by academic researchers and drug developers from pharmaceutical and biotech firms.

With this deck, the Atomwise was able to raise US$123 million for its series B funding round.

Fundraising journey

• 2015: US$6 million in seed funding led by Data Collective with participation from Khosla Ventures, DFJ, AME Cloud Ventures, and OS Fund
• 2018: US$45 million in series A funding led by Monsanto Growth Ventures, Data Collective, and B Capital Group, with participation from Baidu Ventures, Tencent, Dolby Family Ventures, Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, and DFJ
• 2020: US$123 million in series B co-led by B Capital Group and Sanabil, with participation from Data Collective, Baidu Ventures, Tencent, Y Combinator, Dolby Family Ventures, and AME Cloud Ventures
