Most Viral Brands of 2010 [INFOGRAPHIC]

most-viral-brand-2010Evian’s Roller Babies viral ad snatched the limelight last year and was one the most talked about brand in 2009. This year, FIFA took over the throne, all thanks to Shakira’s Waka Waka music video. Waka Waka is also the most watched World Cup video on the web of all time.

Second spot goes to DC Shoes, secured through its 7 minutes stunt drive video, which has attracted over 21 million views on YouTube at the point of writing. Third goes to Old Spice’s campaign that went wildly viral two months ago.

Nike’s star studded ‘Write The Future’ ad also made it to the chart. The ambush-marketing tactic, which fed on the World Cup buzz paid off handsomely. It was the best among the other brands which employed the same tactic.

Stunt videos seem to work well on the web. 3 out of 10 videos on the chart featured stunts: DC shoes, Blendtec and Gillette. Stunt videos are well liked by people on the web; we love sharing and discussing them with our online social network. DC Shoes video was shared more than 480,000 times on Facebook while Roger Federer’s Trick Shot for Gillete was shared more than 170,000 times.
