Vietnam’s VinFast said it has secured all the necessary approvals to start selling electric vehicles in the US.

The company is slated to begin delivering vehicles to customers in the US by the end of this month. The first 999 VinFast vehicles – model VF 8 City Edition – recently arrived in the country.
VinFast said it has received certifications from both the US Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board. The company is also fully compliant with standards set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Founded in 2017, VinFast is a subsidiary of Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest listed company. In July, the company said it opened six showrooms across California and got a US$1.2 billion incentive package from the state of North Carolina for a manufacturing facility.
VinFast also recently filed to list on the Nasdaq under the VFS ticker.
