The idea for Uthoppia House began during corporate performance reviews. Its founder, then a manager, noticed that many junior staff felt lost and unmotivated. He realized motivation was tied to purpose, not just key performance indicators.

After 15 years of coaching teams and using tools like MBTI, a key insight emerged. Career confusion often starts much earlier, before people even choose a university degree. This led to the creation of an AI platform to help students find clarity before entering the workforce.

😟 Problem

Globally, about 70% of young people report a lack of clear career direction. This uncertainty peaks when students must choose university courses without understanding the real-world implications, as degrees no longer guarantee jobs and career paths become less linear.

The consequences are significant. About half of the workforce holds jobs not relevant to their field of study, and two-thirds are not engaged at work. In Singapore alone, high staff turnover costs organizations hundreds of millions of dollars annually in recruitment.

💡 Solution

Uthoppia House uses an AI-powered “career mimicry” approach. The platform matches users to a dataset of more than 30,000 successful individuals based on inputs like personality and CV. It aims to provide inspiration and actionable blueprints.

The platform provides users with:

  • Real education paths taken by similar people
  • Career progression timelines
  • Key decisions that shaped those careers

This allows users to explore and simulate potential futures based on real-world patterns, rather than abstract recommendations.

📊 Market size

In the ASEAN market, 11 million students enroll in universities each year. Nearly half of them do so without a clear understanding of their future career path.

Uthoppia House aims to raise awareness among secondary and high school students about their options. The company’s current realistic annual reach is an estimated 100,000 students.
