Coc Coc, a Vietnam-based browser and search engine provider, has officially launched two new products: Coc Coc AI Chat and Coc Coc AI Search. These products, which users can access for free, mark the beginning of Coc Coc AI Lab, the company’s AI ecosystem.

A chatbot, Coc Coc AI Chat was developed with the GPT-3.5 model and trained using data from Coc Coc Search. It has a strong focus on supporting the Vietnamese language and it is able to process English questions and churn out Vietnamese answers.

The company said that Coc Coc AI Chat stands out from other chatbots for its ability to understand Vietnamese language nuances and handle queries with cultural innuendos.

Meanwhile, Coc Coc AI Search provides summarized content from search results, enabling users to obtain faster, more accurate, and secure information without visiting multiple websites. After typing their queries, users will receive the summarized results in about two seconds.

The firm encourages user feedback and evaluation during the testing phase of these new products.

Founded in 2013, Coc Coc said it has over 29 million users and more than 600 million monthly queries.

Unlike in China, where the Google ban has propelled Baidu to enormous success, Coc Coc has been fighting Google’s dominance in Vietnam for a decade.

According to Statista, Coc Coc’s market share has been dropping to about 5% among browsers and 3% among search engines. The company’s current CEO, Nguyen Vu Anh, told Tech in Asia in an earlier interview that these numbers don’t accurately reflect the firm’s position in the country.
