Singaporean AI mapping startup secures $6.25m from Microsoft’s venture fund
NextBillion, an artificial intelligence startup that offers geospatial mapping solutions for enterprise use, said it has secured US$6.25 million to increase its access to global markets.

- M12’s investment will help the company scale and expand to markets such as North America, NextBillion co-founder Ajay Bulusu said in a statement.
- Established by former members of Grab’s tech leadership team in 2020, NextBillion said it has expanded to support 15 customers across 20 countries and help enterprises map over 2.5 million miles of roads since its inception.
- The investment comes after NextBillion raised US$7 million in a series A funding round last year co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Falcon Edge Capital.
- The company previously said it planned to invest in new areas such as facial recognition, natural language processing, and cybersecurity.
