Meet the startups paving the way for Singapore’s deep tech scene
While the deep tech industry is still pretty nascent in Singapore, funding for the sector has been steadily rising over the past couple of years, going from US$324 million in 2020 to US$861 million in the following year.
Tech in Asia sat down with some key deep tech players in Singapore to discuss how the future-focused industry has evolved over the years.
We spoke to Aliena, a spacetech startup that builds mobility solutions for satellite operators, Bifrost, which empowers AI teams to build better computer vision models using synthetic data, and Origgin, a venture creator taking deep tech research projects toward commercialization.
Cap Vista is the strategic investment arm of Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA). It seeks aspiring entrepreneurs creating deep tech companies with potential applications in defense and security and works together with its defense partners and the greater startup ecosystem to nurture and grow these firms.
