We have seen how people use Google AdWords and Google styled resume to get employers’ attention. Now, add YouTube into this portfolio.
Several months ago, Graeme Anthony, a PR practitioner created a series of video resumes through YouTube. The video is simple, cool and to the point. At the end of the introduction video appears a side bar, which brings you to different videos to learn more about Graeme.
The idea is simply ingenious.
If you follow our Facebook or Twitter updates, you should be aware that our very own writers, Sarah and Stephanie have successfully gotten into the top 20 for the #worldcoolestintern organized by Standard Chartered (Congrats and keep supporting!). Both are strong candidates and are battling out to be the world’s coolest intern. At the final sprint, Sarah and Stephanie employed web video to tell the world their stories.
The video creation process showed employers how creative and determined you are. That said, half of the battle has already been won. Watching a video is so much easier than going through a long list of your written history and I believe Anthony, Sarah and Stephanie executed the beauty of video resumes perfectly. You got to catch the videos yourself to understand how effective they are.
