Airwallex brings on former Google, Facebook execs
Hong Kong-based fintech unicorn Airwallex has made two key appointments to support the company’s global expansion.
Joanne Chin, the company’s new senior vice president and global head of people and talent, and David Bicknell, the new global vice president of finance, will bring close to four decades of expertise to the company.
Experience:
- Chin, who was the former chief people officer at Kraft Heinz Asia Pacific, has also worked at Google and Waymo, the autonomous car unit of Google’s parent firm Alphabet.
- Bicknell, meanwhile, managed an international finance team at Facebook before joining Airwallex. He was also the finance director at Twitter for almost two years.
More details:
- Chin will spearhead Airwallex’s global human resources team to help strengthen the company’s culture and values and build a strong employer brand to attract, retain, and develop its growing workforce.
- At Airwallex, Bicknell will oversee the firm’s financial planning and provide strategic and financial advice to the executive team.
- Airwallex recently raised a US$200 million series E round, valuing the company at US$4 billion.
