Uniqpost Brings Daily Dose of Unique Posts [INTERVIEW]

As the saying goes “Content is the king,” and blogs in Indonesia are providing exactly that recently.

We have previously written about Uniknya, a blog start-up which focuses on presenting unique content to netizens. Today we’re going to look at another: Uniqpost. We set up an email interview with co-founder Dimaz Maulana to find out more about the story behind the blog and how it is doing right now.

1. Can you tell us how Uniqpost was founded?

I founded Uniqpost because I love to write. I wanted to write a novel or fiction book, but I tend to get bored quickly and which makes me unable to expand the plot. So I started to blog and fill it with short articles. Turned out my friends are supporting me to continue doing it and until now.

Uniqpost was founded a year ago, on July 26, 2010 to be exact with [myself] as a writer, Iqbal Habsyi (also a writer), and Guntur Akhmad Fauzi (a designer). Now we have expanded and added a couple of contributors such as Andi Dhebby Putri (a visual artist), Denztyo (K4SQUS Contributor), Barry Kusuma (travel contributor).

2. With more than 30,000 followers on Twitter, how many mentions or retweets can you get in a day? How many actually come over to the Uniqpost website?

Whoa, if you are asking mentions and retweets it’s hard to count because there’s a lot of it, especially if the articles are funny, exciting and gives readers knowledge. Depending on the title of the article, usually we can get 2,000 clicks once we published a story/article.

3. Where does your content come from? Is it a translation of other websites or is it original?

The Internet is huge so we have lots of information sources, but we are still committed to give fresh, unique, funny, and interesting articles. We don’t have to write ‘what is happening right now’ but more of we hope that the article can be useful anytime you read about it.
