Ultra Street Fighter IV to hit Japanese arcades on April 17

Capcom has thrown down a release date for Ultra Street Fighter IV (USF4). The announcement was made during a launch commemoration event for Super Street Fighter IV CR Edition last Saturday, April 5, and it looks like the world will be getting USF4 earlier than expected: the arcade version of Ultra Street Fighter IV wil come out on April 17, 2014, Thursday, in Japan.

Players will get to try out four new characters: Poison, Hugo, Rolento, and Elena at launch. However, they will have to wait if they want to play the last new fighter, Decapre, who will be released as an update at a later date.

If you’re not living in Japan, Ultra Street Fighter IV will be made available for all players around the world sometime in June as a digital upgrade to existing copies of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
