Uber finally lets you schedule rides ahead of time. But there’s a catch.

Uber has always been an on-demand transportation app. That means if you need a ride, like right now, Uber is perfect for you. But now it wants to do more. The company today announced the launch of Scheduled Rides, which allows users to book rides ahead of time.

There’s a caveat though – the feature will only be available first to users of Uber for Business, which is the company’s offering for businesses to manage their staff’s transportation needs.

That’s because it is a “top-requested feature for business travelers,” it explained in an email sent out to Uber for Business users.

The feature rolls out today in Seattle in the United States, “followed by other top business travel cities,” according to the FAQ on the Scheduled Rides landing page.

Users can book rides from 30 minutes to 30 days ahead of time. Only UberX is available for now.

Uber is rather late to the game though. Lyft has been testing the feature since late May, although users can book rides only up to a day in advance.

Uber’s Southeast Asian rival Grab and Indian counterpart Ola already have the feature since last year.
