Malaysia government-owned VC firm MAVCAP names new CEO
With over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, Aziz joined the VC firm in 2015 and collaborated with foreign and corporate partners to create VC funds, as well as generated more funds in the ecosystem.
He will continue to be involved in nurturing startups in the information and communications technology industry as well as other growth sectors such as internet of things, ecommerce, and fintech, according to the company’s website.
Prior to MAVCAP, he worked with companies including the Employees’ Provident Fund, Malaysia Technology Development Corporation, and Unit Peneraju Bumiputera, among others.
MAVCAP operates as a government-owned venture capital company with a total portfolio value of around 5 billion ringgit (US$1.2 billion) in funds between MAVCAP and private sector partners, both domestic and foreign.
