Tribe Accelerator names 9 startups in second cohort

Blockchain-focused Tribe Accelerator has unveiled in Singapore today the nine startups that make up the second edition of its Global Demo Tour. It claims to have helped the participating companies in this batch raise S$21.5 million (about US$15.7 million).

Besides Singapore, demo days will also be conducted in Dubai, Shanghai, and Abu Dhabi, according to a statement.

Here are the nine companies from Tribe’s second batch of startups:

  • Affle is a Singapore-based mobile marketing platform focused on tackling key problems in digital advertising, such as user privacy, ad fraud, and lackluster user experience.
  • Aid:Tech is an Ireland-headquartered startup that aims to empower enterprises by offering blockchain-powered solutions for aid and social welfare programs.
  • Aqilliz is a hybrid advertising and customer loyalty management platform based in Singapore.
  • Bluezelle, a startup based in Singapore and Canada, provides a distributed open-source database service focusing on resolving issues in the data industry.
  • Dimuto is a Singapore-based company that provides solutions for global supply chains.
  • Eximchain is a Singaporean startup that offers a supply chain platform for businesses of all sizes using blockchain.
  • Pilab is a research-focused blockchain company from Korea that develops multipurpose software that enables communication and management of data for distributed applications.
  • Torus is a Singapore startup that offers a distributed private key management solution for blockchain platforms.
  • WhiteCoat is a Singapore-based healthtech startup offering on-demand telehealth services through innovation and data-driven technology.

Tribe said it focuses on driving government partnerships with countries that are keen on leveraging futuristic technology, like blockchain, for economic devlopment. It has recently partnered with Dubai’s Fintech Hive, a leading fintech accelerator in the Middle East, to expand its network.

The Singapore government-backed startup enabler has also launched OpenNodes, a hyperconnected blockchain ecosystem platform, in collaboration with Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority.
