Tokopedia revamps Power Merchant program, opens it to all sellers
Indonesian ecommerce giant Tokopedia has revamped its Power Merchant program, allowing sellers on the platform to participate after fulfilling two requirements: uploading a verified copy of their identity card and notching a minimum of 75 in their store performance score.

A seller’s store performance score is derived from parameters like replying to customer chats promptly and consistently, keeping within certain time limits for deliveries, and avoiding order cancellations.
“Through Power Merchant, sellers can significantly increase sales because of customers’ increased confidence in transacting with their stores,” said Inna Chandika, Tokopedia’s vice president of merchants. “This service can greatly help sellers with marketing through flexible and performance-based fees.”
Other than verified status, Power Merchants also enjoy exclusive features like participation in Tokopedia’s promotional events, bonus advertising credits, and access to fintech features. In return for being part of the program, the sellers are charged a 1% service fee for every transaction.
Tokopedia first launched the Power Merchant program in 2018, and it was originally only open to sellers who pay a monthly subscription fee.
The company’s other revenue-generating program is Official Store, which charges up to 15% per product sold.
Regular sellers on the basic plan can continue to sell on the platform for free.
