The battle between Nicole Seah and Tin Pei Ling continues even after the Singapore General Election is over. This time around, the battle involves an update on Facebook.
Channel News Asia confirmed that a report has been lodged against Tin Pei Ling for violating the “cooling-off day” rule which prohibits Singapore politicians from campaigning on May 6. A mistake made by her Facebook page administrator (as explained by Tin) violated the rule and put her into trouble.
The screen capture, courtesy of The Online Citizen, shows the Facebook update on her page that reads “OooOoooOooh so that’s what REALLY happened? Wow. I think tears in Parliament is worse than ANYTHING ELSE!”
The comment was however removed within 20 minutes on May 6.
Besides Seah’s police report, Tin also faces pressure from multiple Facebook pages which want her out of the parliament. Tin Pei Ling, together with her team was elected into the parliament under the Group Representation Constituency.
