Nets, a Singapore-based payments service platform, said it is integrating its merchant portal with Alipay+ to allow cross-border payments from global customers starting early 2022.

This agreement will let Nets merchants receive payments in Singapore dollars while overseas buyers can transact with their respective currencies.
“Having the most extensive network of acceptance points in Singapore for static and dynamic QR payments makes us an ideal partner for inbound wallet providers,” said Lawrence Chan, group CEO of Nets.
Ant’s AlipayHK, Malaysia’s Touch ‘n Go, and Thailand’s TrueMoney payment wallets are covered by this partnership, according to The Business Times. Other e-wallets that Ant has invested in such as Dana in Indonesia, GCash in the Philippines, and eMonkey in Vietnam might also be added.
“Nets makes an outstanding partner of choice with its vision to drive digital payment innovation and its strong network of merchants, many of which are small and medium-sized businesses,” said Cheng Guoming, general manager of Alipay+ global payment partnership at Ant Group.
Back in China, Alipay started opening up its payment ecosystem to be compatible with state-owned UnionPay.
